A few meditations to get you through 2025
while supporting recovery efforts in Los Angeles
Hello my friends —
When the world gets unstable — or even if just my inner landscape feels rocky — the practice that stabilizes me is meditation. I feel so fortunate to have this simple practice of getting quiet, turning my attention inward, and just being. In this world where we are living with some kind of device connected to us nearly every waking moment, just a few minutes of quiet can profoundly shift my mood, my outlook, and my ability to cope.
As I’m sure you know, last week a series of devastating fires broke out in Los Angeles. We live about 90 miles south and have not been directly affected, but my sister and mom live in Santa Monica and evacuated for a few days. My 81-year-old mom is now staying with us indefinitely.
The experience was, and continues to be, harrowing. It will undoubtedly take years to rebuild the 40,000 acres that have been burned. Not to mention the air quality — honestly, it sickens me to think of the air quality.
SO. I thought I’d put together a package of meditations that will help you while also helping LA. It’s $15, four meditations, and all proceeds will go to two charities: Baby2Baby and California Community Foundation Wildfire Fund.
These meditations are ones that I practice regularly — they’re simple, incredibly simple but, for me, they are foundational. They’re like the basic nutrients of a healthy diet. Not flashy or complicated! No obscure spices involved! Just basic goodness that everyone can do and benefit from.
My hope is that you will be able to return to them over and over again. (These will not “expire,” so as long as we still keep our courses going on Kartra, you will continue to have access.)
