Happy Friday!
I’ve got BIG NEWS: I am SO super-duper excited to announce that I’m starting a book club here! I’ve thought about doing this for a long time. There are so many great books that I’ve featured on the podcast and I’ve longed to savor them, to talk about them with friends, to process them more slowly.
This club will help us do that! Plus, I will choose authors who will host a discussion or Q&A for club members. (Please note that this is for paid members, so get on it and subscribe if you haven’t already!)
Our first book is Jill Miller’s, Body by Breath: The Science and Practice of Physical & Emotional Resilience. This book…I am really obsessed with this book.
I have a lot more to say about it, and in truth, I am prepping to interview Jill in about 12 hours. So, you will hear the interview next week!
In the meantime, here are the four previous interviews that I’ve done with Jill for your listening pleasure. I will start transcribing and pulling out quotes and bullets from them for paid members over the next few weeks:
Harnessing the vagus nerve to “turn on your off switch”
All about your fascia (Part I)
All about your fascia (Part II)
Jill Miller on hip replacement surgery and how yoga is in need of a tune-up
Some general guidelines about how the book club will work:
The book club will include discussion threads here on Substack that I will start as well as exclusive interviews or Q&As for each book.
This club will meet on a quarterly basis. We may add an additional book here or there, but I’d like to be able to savor what we learn and incorporate it into our lives and teaching.
Please note that the club is reserved for paid subscribers only, so please do become a paid subscriber to help keep things running smoothly.
Awesome!! I appreciate your timeline with this, feels very managable to me. Looking forward to the first read.
Hi! This is so great. I love the idea of working through a book (such as this one!). I'm jumping online to order it now and hope I can get it delivered to Australia in time!
