I love the podcast. I enjoy most of the guests you’ve had on but the ones with Jason are my favorites. We all wear many hats throughout the day & when we teach or in your instance, interview... it’s so important to be who you are and voice your ideas. You have been an inspiration to me. In my early life I was never brave enough to speak or raise my hand to answer. As a result of teaching, listening to you and Jason... I am truly my self... especially when teaching. I’ve had classes where a yoga teacher from LA showed up to my class and initially I would consider changing what I was planning...but did not...and was proud to do what I do comfortably from my heart and have never been disappointed.
Please keep doing what you’re doing... it’s truly a gift from your heart. Thank you 🙏❤️
I’m new to your work here, but your authenticity already shines through!
I like connecting with writers sometimes on Notes to share ideas for projects I’m working on, etc. the writing life can be lonely. But I agree that the snippets can also be misleading or shallow. It really depends and it’s great that we can choose how and if we use it. ❤️
We will never be for everyone and if we try to make ourselves for everyone then we are no longer being true to ourselves. I appreciate your authenticity and I love listening to you and Jason. I don’t even hear what you’re saying sometimes (2 kids🤷🏻♀️) it’s just soothing to hear your interchanges
That makes me really happy...I'd sort of forgotten that one of the reasons I started the podcast is because I want to help inspire people to keep practicing. Negativity is all around us (and can be a natural part of our mind-state), so I do really try to remind people of why we love the practice and why it's worthwhile, etc. Thanks for reminding me!
Your podcast is such a joy to listen to! And both you and Jason have enriched my knowledge and understanding of yoga as a practice.
I also resonate so much with the imposter syndrome and I love the pixie analogy. In my career, I came into it through “the back door” as I always say, and that non traditional path always gives me the sense that I’m not quite qualified. I have to tell myself every day that I am well qualified and quite capable!
Thanks for sharing Andrea. I often put what I think is an interesting piece of writing/content together and at the point of posting I step back and hide in my shadow, something I’m really trying to work on, we do all have a voice and it counts as much as the next person.
The podcast is great, it’s real, and whatever the content, however it evolves, it’s inspiring and I’ll keep listening!
I totally, totally get it. I find that I have to post almost IMMEDIATELY, flaws and all, or I will sit on it. Thank you for listening and commenting, too!
Thank you for writing this. I too suffer from imposter syndrome and it can be really debilitating - on the inside - no one on the outside, save my partner, ever notices it. I love the direction the podcast has taken. While I love the variety of guests you have had on and their views on the variety of subjects you've covered, you and Jason have so much to share about yoga and the way it weaves through your life. It's great to hear you dive a little more deeply into content and even be able to do more than one episode on a topic. And just like the podcast has taken the turn in this direction, it will likely take another turn or two in the next 8 years, so I hope you are enjoying the Andrea/Jason show - I know I am! Thank you!!
I’ve been a listener to your podcast since the beginning and I 100% appreciate the steady flow of valuable education you freely share. Your humanness and authenticity is grounding for me in an esoteric topic that can a lot of times be very overwhelming. You have a gift to share a complex subject in very digestible, practical ways with a flare of humor and realness. I love the balance. I love the variety, flow and diversification of the podcast. It’s fresh and never dull. I often talk to my husband about you and Jason and the most recent podcast like we’re friends and he has to remind me that you both don’t even know I exist. Haha. But because you are so relaxed and open with your personal relationship with yoga, meditation, pranayama, struggles, etc I feel connected and loyal to you and your ideas you feel called to discuss. Your work is inspiring for me as I slowly chip away at being more confident in my yoga teaching. Keep going!
I'm sure we WOULD be friends if we all met :) Jason and I always marvel at how lucky we are when we get to meet our students...they are "our people!" It feels really good and I'm glad to hear that what we share is helpful! Thank you, thank you.
I’m grateful for your work. If we are fortunate, we do the work we are most suited to do, and you excel at your work.
Three years ago, I was in my 20th year of yoga practice and the 6th month of YTT200, I wrote to you and Jason to tell you how much your podcast and online materials helped me. Jason wrote back. For me, all of that just really captures why you’re doing a great job. You are real people in the real world, having real conversations. I respect the way you both have dedicated your lives to the full practice of yoga, sharing that with us, and bringing the voices of other people to us too. Like many people, I have my list of go-to pods and branch out into other pods from there. I return to Yogaland as a go-to and I’m always gifted something new and helpful.
Because you are doing such a good job at this, I can only imagine people want you to be all the things to all the people. But you’re you. So keep “doing you” because it’s really good and it’s really working.
Also, as the mom of two neurodivergent kids, I also frequently send you props for how thoughtfully and compassionately (yoga!) you share about parenting your kiddo.
I think I will read your comment over and over on days I'm feeling hard on myself, Heather! Thank you for so generously supporting me and us. Also always love connecting with other mamas of neurodivergent kids...it's not an easy journey and I used to feel a bit lonely. Sharing and talking about it has helped. And as I've learned more, I'm now pretty fascinated by it. Grateful that we know more and can embrace it. Thanks again ❤️
Absolutely beautiful and exactly what I needed to read. Thank you and just so you know I never have enough of You or Jason, your connection, your knowledge and conversations are always very interesting and inspiring.
Thanks for your share and openness about how you are feeling Andrea. Being in our authenticity can be a messy ever evolving state of affairs and discomforts. I appreciate what you are putting out into the world...Jason included or not! 💕

Gosh, makes me happy to read this, Kate. From my heart to yours!

Will check out your podcast now, too!
Thanks, Kathleen, for reading and commenting! I think so many people are GREAT at the short, pithy content! (I'm just not one of them -- ha.)
I so relate to what you are saying here..
As yogis we all strive to be our true selves, to be authentic.
In mindfulness we find distractions and we find our truth. Loving your podcast and your heartfelt conversations with Jason.
You are gifted.
Thank you so much, Paula. I truly appreciate hearing from you.

That is the cutest comment ever. I'm truly glad we are soothing!!
You make a great team! I love the banter, joy, expertise and passion you both put into your podcast. Keep producing great, honest and unique content!
Thank you so much! This means a lot!
I always come away from the Yogaland podcasts feeling better about the world. I'm looking forward to the book club.

Yes, yes, yes! We ARE qualified! Getting older has helped but I still do need those reminders from time to time, too.
When I read your manifesto, I could actually hear your voice speaking it. 100% authentic!
(And I like both ways of the show- “you and Jason” and “mostly you”.)
That's great to hear! Definitely thinking about sharing it on the pod...at some point. Maybe. Ha.
I truly enjoy your podcast!!! Thank you for sharing your experiences and vulnerability. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks, Andrea ❤️❤️

I absolutely loved this read, and felt so much resonated. Thank you for being so eloquent and sharing x

Thanks for this -- helpful reminder to embrace the mess! ❤️
